Compassion is the way to reach the hearts of people. Our leaders should recognize leading their people require the quality of compassion. Society consists of different classes of people, some are extremely rich, some are extremely poor. When a leader leads evey one it's his /her responsibility to take more care of those who require more caring. And naturally those who have least resources or no resource at all need most attention. A leader can take care of such fellow countrymen only when his/her heart melts for those. Melting of heart is possible under the heat of inner tears. Such tears have their origin in the compassion which is a natural source of caring emotions and thoughts. A leader has to formulate policies . If there is compassion inside for the resourceless population natural tendency of a leade is to think about ways and means for mitigating poverty and destituteness.
Pandemic and resultant devastating economy with breaking social ties have provided an opportunity to our leaders. They could show compassion for their countrymen and some of the world leaders like those of New Zealand, Taiwan, Germany etc really did so. Compassion helps leaders to have a strong bond with the people and people feel their leader is one from them. This feeling of belongingness of leaders with the masses creat a relationship of trust. This restores faith of people in governments. At the same time compassion refines leaders as well. This emotion enables leaders to be more people friendly . Contrary to this is a leadership based on fear and control. So come on dear leaders, become more compassionate.
