HOW CAN U UNDERSTAND MOVEMENTS

HOW CAN U UNDERSTAND MOVEMENTS Reading and discussing are two potent ways to continuously improve knowledge and wisdom. But in India most of us work on our pre fixed notions. We are not in the habit of emperical analysis and philosophical discourse. We mostly formulate our views based on the informations  provided by tv channels and social media. Very few strive to find details from various sources. Intellectual sluggishness costs our intelligence and wisdom. Most of us are in the trap of fake news network .    If we go into deep we will find true picture. Philosophical background, psychological understanding and social realities coupled with questing attitude unveil the truth.   If we are really concerned with what's going on in our society , first come out from the  shock effects of pro or anti govt status, then try to comprehend Indian philosophical traditions  and phycological traits,  Indian social structure with its cast, religious weavings,...

REFORMING DEMOCRACY

Do u agree with the reality that representative democracy has come to its age and now time has arrived to redesign the democracy by introducing some more elements to facilitate direct participation? In this context do u agree with the idea of autonomous small states within a bigger country and demilitarization?

DEPARTURE FROM PHILOSOPHY.......

Learning of philosophy helps to understand our history and journey of ethics in our society. This also helps in the growth of masses who are aware of their philosophical history which enable them to create a base for a principle based politics. Philosophical literacy enables the democratic base to root itself deep in culture, from where it gets its nutrients and micronutrients. But unfortunately Indian system in modern India has never tried to spread either Indian philosophy or even the Western philosophy among the masses. The best way was to make the Indian students acquainted with the both streams of philosophy, at least their basic tenets. However, in contrary to this  our best education institutions have been emphasising the need to prepare students for market. Indian students have been being treated as assets for markets. This commodification of students make them devoid of any philosophical idea and philosophical impotency makes them inert scholars who can only produce or tra...

RISE OF COMMUNAL POLITICS WITH RISING INEQUALITY

See what has been happening in India for last three decades. From 1990 when new economic reforms were introduced there was major paradigm shift from socialist model state controlled economy to market driven economy. Suddenly our markets started galvanizing and new opportunities started appearing. We become a global partner of newly arrived globalization era. We all were excited. But the fruits of new economic development were not equitably distributed, neither were the equitable opportunities for all. The then existing social structure heavily dominated by particular religious and caste groups enabled the better placed groups to amass the fruits of economic development. At the same time these  groups were quick to capture opportunities as well. Mandal effect certainly enabled certain classes to grab some opportunities but these facilities were  restricted to old  govt sector only. Mandal politics tried to fill the gap by enabling certain caste groups to become politically...

HAS THE GOVT ABSOLUTE POWER??

Interestingly enough entire indian middle and upper class  intellingtsia has  consciously been refraining  from raising the question about the absolute power of the government which  is trying to exercise over the citizens. We can't see Farm laws and CAA just from the spectacles of crony capitalism and fanatic nationalism. Bigger and more philosophical questions are involved that how much power a govt can exercise over the citizens? Have  the elected legislatures, the  appointed executive and the selected judiciary unlimited powers to  rule over the popular will or even the minority will? Have they absolute power to scuttle individual will so thoroughly that they can make, execute and justify any rule without the respect for individual liberty and community will? From where are they drawing such absolute power? Does our Constitution give unqualified right to them to overrule the citizens' will and their liberty ? These are a few fundamental questions w...
Politics is not all about confrontation. It's not a game to demean opponanents. History of politics tells us it was developed by society to find a common place for different warning factions of population. In this course idea of  state, sovereign power, government  etc emerged and orderly society was expected. So politics has as many branches as one can think, but interestingly those involved in politics dont understand the significance of it all the time. The very crux of the politics from the very inception of this concept is negotiation. If u avoid meaningful negotiation based on the innovation u r not doing politics, rather u r bullying society's moral . If u are government u r destined to win ur people by ur ideas and not by ur number. Such a task is not politics, its just militarization. The same erroneous decision was taken by the Kauravas, by the Nazis, by the Europeans in 18th-19th cent and by our own present govt. The only difference is that our present govt is...

ROLE OF KARMYOGA IN THE PROCESS OF INNOVATIONS.

ROLE OF KARMYOGA  IN THE PROCESS OF INNOVATIONS. In reality , when we start doing something we need to ascertain our course of actions first. This is the first thing we have to do. Here there are two important things, one is our own prejudices, other is our affinity to probable results of our consequences.      Whenever we have to do something we look at the issue from the perspective which we have already developed so far based on our learning. Our perspective formed by our learning and understanding is our prejudice to view an issue. This largely decides how we envisage the  course of actions. We put our own ideas, our own likes and dislikes, our own definitions into our action. In this case, our learning consists of not only with what we have learnt from our institutions but  it carries the influences of others over us as well to the extent to which we allow to overpower us.        Secondly , being deeply attached with the desired pro...

IN DEMOCRACY CITIZENS HAVE A ROLE EVEN AFTER ELECTIONS FOR SELECTIONS

All over the world, including India a genuine question regarding the modus operandi of policy decision making must be asked by all stakeholders of democracy. If you see democracy merely a system to chose a rule  leaving every other thing at the level of autocracy, then there is no need to ask. But if you believe democracy is more than selection through election, and it implies people's engagement in government even after elections then the above question is relevant.

PANDEMIC REVEALS WE ARE NOT COMMUNITY PEOPLE

PANDEMIC REVEALS WE ARE NOT COMMUNITY PEOPLE The ongoing COVID 19 pandemic has revealed many aspects of our life ranging from government to bureaucracy to politics to economy to community to so on. Not a single facet of social and individual life was untouched. No catastrophe in the history of human civilization has ever affected the entire civilization  at the same time. At the same time it provided us a rare opportunity to know how badly our governments are prepared to save their population despite vast amount of resources, knowledge and scientific manpower at their disposal. It also revealed how poorly prepared were the citizens and nationals themselves and how much they were interested in other things , other than issues of their own welfare and survival. It also revealed despite the fact that most governments are self engrossed, busy in increasing military power and amassing huge wealth for personal interests there are a few governments and societies which are more interested ...
