HINDUS-THEY ARE NOT IN DANGER

Hindus were never in danger and even today they are not in danger. As a religious stream Hinduism has been serviving for thousands of years not because of her bigotry but because of her tolerance and inclusiveness. The most striking challange which Hinduism has  faced till today was from Buddhism which radically altered Hinduism to  such an extent that when u read original teachings of Lord Budha and Shrimadbhagavat Geeta u find a lot of similarities. Buddhism had also strong royal patronage. But Hinduism due to her tolerance just adjusted and servived . If someone has even  a small understanding of History he may notice when Chanakya formulated his law for rule for Empires and when Maurya Empire was established with his philosophical patronage he never adopted coercive attitude towards Buddhism which had support of earlier rulers of Patliputra . Magadh was largely under the influence of Buddhism and Jainism from the days of Ajatashatru but advent of Mauryans  under ...

INTOLERANCE

India is in a mess. Yes. No amount of rhetoric can alter the reality. Education, health, economy all are in the bad shape and most disappointing reality is that neither the rulers nor the people are in mood of accepting the reality. And all political parties are devoid of ideas. India is in the age of "mental bankruptcy" .  And culture of the present day which emphasises the glory of the past has prevented Indians from moving forward. Religions have one serious  fault. All religions claim to be repositories of all knowledge.  Accepting  more and more religiosity means negation of potential of efforts and future. Religion emphasises all knowledge is in past and future has no knowledge. All religions make the people believe their efforts have no value as their destiny is predetermined. This is the state of affairs in today's India. India has refused to be modern-modern in economic, educational, political senses.

It's a hard fact that more than common masses it's the elite, which ditches idea of India as enshrined in the Indian National Movement and in  the  Indian  Constitution. Role of the judiciaal elite in this context has been more objectionable considering the weight of onus she has to carry to carry on the democracy.     It's the elite which sets the course of actions in most of the cases. And among all elites judicial elites are of paramount importance. In india it's judicial elite which has been responsible for killing of democratic credentials.     And when elite fails masses step in and then elite becomes useless. Farmers movement is it's example. Success of farmers mov is not less than a revolution.
Fixing of minimum marriage age is welcome move if it's based on considered deliberations  regarding  health issues, social norms and problems, property rules and other gender issues. If a law is to be made about girls marriage age is it not proper to engage women politicians of all parties and NGOs working in the field of gender issues? All male dominated bodies may prevail and people may accept their decision but exclusion of stake holders is nothing but a hubristic decision driven by patriarchal attitude. There are apt questions like is increasing female marriage age going to solve problems of malnutrition, iron deficiency, menestrual health issues, pregnancy and delivery related health issues?  Is the proposed legislation going to tackle gender disparity and indignity which are being inflicted upon females in genral? Is the proposed legislation going to solve social menace of dowry, female security, status of women in society, gender parity etc? Such are the questions ...

INEQUALITY TECHNOLOGY AND DEMOCRACY

INEQUALITY TECHNOLOGY AND DEMOCRACY   A lot of talks are going on about the World Inequality Report 2022. In the mean time the US has organized   and hosted @first Summit for Democracy . Interestingly although the said report has no connection with the summit and when we go for doing some analysis of inequality on one hand and of democracy on the other hand we find that at the end we arrive at the point where we find   inequality in terms of economics  is nothing but an authoritarian way of distribution of economic resources and this is the concentration of inequality of economic endowments and resources against the masses which promotes authoritarianism against  the democracy.     Democracy is not only a political system. That is just a myopic solution to see democracy as a pure political system as envisaged by Margret Thatcher and Ronald Reagan during 1980s. They and after them most of the world leaders failed to unde...
