MARCH TOWARDS EQUALITY
This is one of the most timely questions which must be brought in the focus of the public discourse as now this question has started affecting our very survival as a human being. Without going into the details of data which are widely available in public domain we all know because of the increasing inequality deprivation and discrimination have been rapidly increasing both in terms of mensuration and demography. So question regarding which political group or party has more area under it's rule is less important than the questions arising out of the statistics of the area under socio-economic deprivation and discrimination. How can a person living in a small area, village, town or slum see our posh areas of metros? Have we ever dared to discuss this disparity and disparity generated discrimination and deprivation? If we start colouring map of India in some dark colour for deprived and discriminated areas we will get only some islands of affluence amidst darkness of deprivation and discrimination.
All sorts of discourse including media, public lectures and debates, legislative proceedings, universities debates etc should take up the question of inequality, deprivation, and discrimination . Only a positive march towards equality and mitigation of deprivation and discrimination can ensure a larger population a better life. Any sort of political ideology, social structure and economic policy which are proved to be impediments to this march should not be outrightly rejected. In our democracy it has already been well established that our votes have always decided our future. If we focus our attention to the democratic values of social, political and economic equality there is no reason why political parties will drift away . In democracy it's the responsibility of citizens to direct the political.parties to set their agenda of development. If development is devoid of aims of equality that model of development is injurious to the democratic society as of ours.
