WHY DO WE FALL
-------------------------------------------
The following losses are caused to a person escaping from the performance of his duty.
According to our nature / quality, when we fail to discharge our duties, we are not able to move ahead from the present state of qualities, but fall below it. Decreasing divine wealth leads to an increase in demonic qualities, due to which we fall from a higher state of spiritual practice to a lower state.
For this reason our identity in this worldly/material set up is also affected. The intelligence we are known for is eroded. This fact applies to every person at every level of society. A brief list of divine and demonic possessions is as follows-
Divine quality
Fearlessness, purity of conscience, devotion to meditation, surrender of everything, control over the senses, non-violence, truthfulness, absence of anger, renunciation of the fruit of action, Lack of restlessness of mind, Kindness towards all, Non-attachment, Tenderness, Devotion to goal, Absence of vain effort, Forgiveness, Brightness, Absence of enmity, Absence of greed, Lack of sense of worship, Feelings of humiliation lack of
Demonic qualities
Hypocrisy, arrogance, pride, anger, harsh speech, ignorance, conceit, pride, concern for humiliation, item, attachment to the fruit of action, attachment to the senses, slander, ego, desire, greed, attachment, disrepute, etc.
When we do not act according to the potential generated by our nature, we fall from the state of spiritual practice, but due to this decline, the increased demonic quality only increases our disrepute. According to the state of devotion the discharge of duty gives fame, but if it is unfavourable, one gets disgrace.
Even in the material world, when we do not act according to our ability we are slandered. The society expects us to perform the duty according to our capacity. If we do not do this, then according to the stage we are in, we also get slander.
Sin and virtue have great importance in moral terminology. The concept of sin and virtue depends on the state of the quality of our nature. According to the nature, according to the state of our self-properties, the discharge of our duties is virtuous and not discharging them is a sin. When we perform duty, divine qualities increase in us, demonic qualities decrease, we tend to a higher state of spiritual practice, that is, we attain virtue. If the opposite happens, the demonic qualities increase, which leads to the increase of sin.
The same is repeated in the material society as well. If we are unable to perform our assigned duty, then we are incapacitated. Only a person who has fallen from duty is called a sinner.
Keep in mind that sin and virtue are not determined by any external entity. We suffer the consequences of our own actions. Sin and virtue, fame and disrepute are the natural results of our own actions. So we should keep in mind that under any circumstance we should not be derelicted from our duty, otherwise we will have to suffer, as well as due to us, the pressure of demonic tendencies like incest, tyranny, untruth, violence, hatred will increase in the society, which will suffer. Nature will have also to suffer. You yourself see that due to our weakness in today's situation, what is happening to the society and its physical, natural and intellectual environment. If we all self-examine ourselves, we find that we are falling back by turning away from our assigned duty. If we sow a seed of babool(it is thorny)then we are not going to get a tree laden with sweet mangoes.
