URGENT CALL
But progress on the front of ICT & digital technology can not achieved without government's massive support in countries like India. Market has its own priorities propelled by the motive of interest and there is nothing wrong with this. But the role of the government is to fill the gaps left by the market. The urgent requirement to shift to ICT & digitization at the quickest possible way had left a larger part of society bewildered, helpless, and hapless. In a country like India major sections of the population are in fact destitute in terms of access to and possession of the technology. And without this access and possession that part will be severely marginalised in the process of all aspects of development. Market will never take care of the masses in general and the responsibility of the government has increased many fold to make the population sustainable in terms of ICT & digitization. Enormous investments and efforts are required to enable the population to have access to the technology.
Similarly masses are required to be educated about the need to face the imminent changes. They must be apprised of the reality that if they miss the chance of technological updation in future they will have to suffer irreversibly. They will suffer not only economically but also socially, politically and culturally. Socially, they will have to be forced to live in a society which will not have modern facilities of international standards and social structure and it's organizations will remain archaic. Social institutions will not be equipped to deal with modern needs. Only smaller groups of privileged people will have required knowledge for growth and this will generate unimaginable inequality in society. This inequality will generate authoritarian political regimes and culturally we will be pauparized society.
If our political classes and masses fail to live up the demands of the time for updating and spread of ICT & digitization we will be cursed to live the life of backwardness in imminent future.
So it's the high time for masses to persuade and to pressurise their political leaders and bureaucracy to act as per the need of the hour to make this place a better place.
