A FEW REASONS WHY INDIA IS STILL LAGGING BEHIND
1. Ignored education system.
2. During initial years of independence no drive was made to make Indians educated and so Indian labour force is highly unskilled.
3. Brain drain
4. Ingnored health system
5. Less emphasis on adoption and spread of technology incentive industrialization.
6 .In initial years of independence delay in investment in construction sector, only emphasis on heavy machinery industries, lack of consumer industries, lack of integration with global industrial giants.
7. No effort to improve the productivity of government owned Public Sector functioning and productivity.
8. Allowing overcrowding of Public Sector Enterprises.
9. No vision for creating productive employment in rural and urban areas.
10. No emphasis on industrialization of port areas beyond the existing capacity and physical infrastructure
11. Lack of alternative employment opportunities for rural areas.
12. Lack of EASE OF DOUNG BUISNESS.
13. Difficult Land Acquisition rules for industry.
14. Lack of emphasis on export oriented industry.
15. Adverse political and economic attitude towards FDI
16. Lack of expansion of Industry in new barren and thinly populated areas.
17. Lack of mechanization of agriculture and allied activities.
18. Lack of strong and effective social security network.
19. Week local self govt at rural and urban levels.
20. Lack of incentives to officers and workers for their productive performance.
21. Lack of efforts to create broad based domestic demands and consumptions.
22. Inclusion of bureaucracy in PSUs leaving technocrats subservient to them.
23.Lagging in technology intensive industries and mass manufacturing industries.
24. Lack of incentives to MSMEs
25. Allowing big crony capitalists to grow out of proportion
26. Lack of efforts to mitigate inequalities.
27. Lack of generating merit in bulk.
28. A lot of redtapism. Lots of unnecessary rules and regulations.
29. Indian State's deslike for market freedom.
30. Chaotic democratic rule.
31. Democracy based on ethnic identities like caste, religion, language etc.
32. Crony capitalism throughout the growth history. State -market coziness .
33. Almost no reform or ill conceived reforms in land relations resulting a large magnitude of land disputes and land related crimes.
34. Non transparency in governance and bureaucracy.
35. A bureaucracy resistant to change for her own sake.
36. Rampant corruption from lowest to highest level of governance.
37. State tries to do a lot with less resources.
38. state's unfriendly attitude towards critics.
39. General anti worker psychology which was manifested blatantly during backward migration crisis during 2020 lockdown when neither state nor community stood for migrant labours.
40. Rise of Ethenic , anti minority, anti female , protectionist, chauvinist Right wing politics based on communal aspirations with the support of crony private sector and submissive media.
