While we are living lockdown for the first time in our lifetime , certainly due to very traumatic reasons we are also coming into the contact of real state of affairs of our system and are also learning , if interested how to become prepared for any exigencies. There are disaster management plans and every country has its own model. We have also our own SOP developed after gathering much experiences in the field of disaster management. But we see when today actual crisis has occurred our disaster management SOP has crashed, and this has happened not only in our society or state or country, rather this crash is world wide happening ranging from China to America, from Europe to Africa.
In fact during post 2nd world war world all preparedness was focused on military preparation and on wartime situation. In our SOP disaster has never been encompassing anything like such highly contagious disease. In reality all attack and saktey mechanisms were developed either to cope natural disasters and war borne disaster. We never thought health might be the next war zone. Health sector was being treated as a hen laying gold eggs. The industry thrived on the fear of masses and their concern for health. So star hospital culture were erected with the support of myth that such star hospitals are only solutions for ensuring quality health service. Establishments all over the world either supported this myth or adapted this myth without considering the size of the populations, their varied life style, food habits, culture etc. That's why like artificial food shortage which has kept a large population hungry artificial health service shortage was created for making money. But no one could comprehend that one day this artificial shortage may cost life of big and small alike. Otherwise how is it possible that from the richest to poorest countries not even rank and file but also those who are on driving seats didn't know the actual state of affairs and status of the health system of their respective countries/states? How is it possible that affluent and powerful countries like China and those of Europe and America are suffering from basic health equipments like ventilators. COVID 19 is, no doubt a new virus which origin has not yet been ascertained but it's also actually true that ventilators are not meant for COVID 19 only, rather they are needed to sustain life against many known diseases. Disinfectants, masks, sanitizers etc are so basic things. Similarly no of doctors, para medical staff, hospitals, beds, medicines , equipments would have to in in the proportionate ratio of population of respective countries and.states. in fact there would have been SARVA SWASTHYA SEWA ABHIYAN on the line of SARVA SHIKSHA ABHIYAN in every part of the world in different forms as for every development first and last target is the man himself/herself. But the world without any exceptions has forgotten the necessity of compulsory health service for all and today the entire world is paying the price. Vaccine for COVID19 will be found sooner or latter but unless a strong net of health service with strong health army is not erected, our civilization is bound to face of wrath of some other deadly disease on some other unknown date.
